Happy Mom’s Day if you celebrate it!
Thing is…
Not everyone’s mom is a great or even good mom.
I am very lucky in that mine was. Like all parents, she made her mistakes… but I am confident she did the very very best she knew how.
After all, most parents generally do NOT wake up and say, Jeepers! Gonna mess up my family today!
Right?
Still, though….
Things happen. and sometimes, one has the hell of having a toxic mother as well.
If YOU have or had a toxic mom (or dad for that matter)….
Please do NOT feel that her issues were because of *you*.
Most likely, her issues were because of HER.
HER ISSUES!!!
If you can find it in yourself to forgive and move on, that might be the best way to move your own life forward.
And if not, these things happen…. and perhaps next year you can make that change.

It’s Friday!
Actually, gnope, it’s still Thursday around 8:30pm or so.
And yes! Got to the gym AND did 1 hour of biking…
Had a lunch date with the husband afterwards at our local Shop Rite buffet – was able to pick up moose food (yay!), PiggyMoose food and more.
Elsewhere in Lingland…
… Reading/watching the news is REALLY depressing these days.
Every broadcast has their own agendas, and those agendas are there to create division and not unity in our country. 🙁 Hatred sucks, it really does.
And! As you might remember, back in February, the husband and I reconnected with his son (with whom we’ve been rather estranged for some years).
One can never change the past, but one can try to make up for it.
Alas, it’s not to be, as earlier I received a note that very basically said, I don’t want contact with you anymore.
Very sad that is… but respect it I shall. I’m glad I reconnected with his mom; hopefully that will stay.
I think it all comes down to, life is really too short to keep those who you do NOT want… in your life.
Focus instead on those who recognize your value.

… but you might not be aware of crucial social marketing tactics that could backfire in your face.

But what if you haven’t yet even begun to take advantage of social marketing?
It’s really not that difficult to do…. you could break it down into the following 3 steps.
Step 1.) Ensure you have a welcome page dedicated to the platform. Ever hear of the Twelcome page?www.barbaraling.com/insights/twelcome-to-my-twitter-page is a cool example … and it doesn’t have to be anything hugely different than your usual welcome page. Just by showing you’re aware of how people visit your site can be enough to grab their attention in a positive fashion
Step 2.) Research the best ways to create engagement, depending upon the platform in question.
What works in Twitter could fail dismally in Facebook and leave people weeping in frustration on Reddit! Each platform has its own Best Area Practices…. make sure you read up on the best techniques so you don’t miss the boat.
Step 3.) Armed with the above… go out and social mediaize!
Use the social platform to engage with your users in a way THEY find infotaining and informative.
Create content that gives people cachet whenever they share!
And above all…
Remember to be *real* (fake accounts are oh so 2018, you know).

You know, youth really is wasted on the young.
The amount of energy had then… verses what would be kinda sorta nice now…
No comparison.
Plus I’ve noticed yet again that if one doesn’t do the exercise…
… the Universe basically lets your body go worse and worse.
Blah.
Totally over it.
But hey, still above ground so ’tis all good.
