Dennis here... I mentioned Earn1KaDay before, it's sort of a famous membership site for IMers.
Did you know I started it 10 years ago (May 2007)?
In the beginning I had hopes and dreams and some wonderful members who loved what little was inside. At the time, the going estimate was that an average member of that kind of site would stick around 3-5 months and then leave. That wasn't what I wanted to happen, obviously.
I worried back then, how would I continue to come up with new and interesting content for the members to keep them coming back? I could only do so much myself, after all. And I worked very hard to keep filling the members area with new information that was worthy of their time.
It was exhausting. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
Fast forward 10 years, and some of the original members, and those who joined soon after that, are still around. Imagine that. :-)
I've created other membership sites since then also, and they also have many long time members.
Here's the thing... do you think that I've continued to create multiple new pieces of content week after week for multiple sites? Yes, I have created a bunch of products over the years, and yes, I've given those to members, but no, that isn't even the tip of the iceberg of the content inside them.
So, here's the secret... Have you heard of using "Other People's Money", like in real estate empires, where you use loans from banks or investors as down payments on properties? That's called OPM, for short.
